Projects and researches

DPI’s first call for project proposals was concluded in February 2025 to benefit local partners in the OTS region in the area of spreading drought-resistant crops and afforestation. In addition, viable project concepts to be presented by OTS members will be evaluated by DPI resulting in a diversified project portfolio. Projects of technical assistance, investment preparation as well as bankability nature to be selected, among other considerations, are based on the needs of OTS members, and the value added as well as the overall impact of the proposed operations. Additionally, DPI is also mandated to look for international partnerships and funding opportunities so that the scale and effectiveness of the projects can be increased in the longer term.

DPI’s project selection (PS) system follows the widely accepted principles as presented below:

  • Results-based management, based on the use of logic models such as theory of change, results frameworks, and logical frameworks;
  • Impartiality and independence of the evaluation process from the programming and implementation functions;
  • Credibility of the evaluation through the use of appropriately skilled and independent experts and the transparency of the evaluation process, including wide dissemination of results;
  • Participation of stakeholders in the evaluation process, to ensure that different perspectives and views are taken into account, and
  • Usefulness of the evaluation findings and recommendations, through timely presentation of relevant, clear and concise information to decision makers that DPI wants to apply in its system as well.
