Unlocking Green Finance for Drought Resilience: Opportunities for DPI Action in the OTS Region

Drought resilience is no longer only an environmental priority—it is a strategic investment challenge. On the occasion of the Regional Ecological Summit 2026 in Astana, DPI is making this new paper publicly available, highlighting how unlocking green and sustainable finance can address this gap in the OTS region. With over 60 project concepts submitted under DPI’s recent call—representing an indicative investment volume exceeding USD 320 million—the study identifies concrete pathways to mobilize private and public capital, strengthen project bankability, and position DPI as a catalytic platform for scaling drought resilience investments.
