The event offers a prominent opportunity for the Budapest-based Drought Prevention Institute (DPI) of the OTS, as L\u00e1szl\u00f3 \u00d6rl\u0151s, the DPI\u2019s Operations Director, presents its ambitious 2025\u20132026 strategic road map during a session held for the agricultural ministers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The DPI, operated by HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency as a sustainability <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">instrument of the OTS, aims at increasing the member states\u2019 resilience to the growing <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">threat of drought. Its activities rest on three pillars: deepening cooperation between OTS <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">member states, involving international institutions, and building operational capacities for <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">practical implementation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A key element of the strategy presented to the ministers is the launch of the Institute\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">project application window, offering legal entities operating in OTS member states or in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hungary the opportunity to express their interest through submitting project concepts in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">areas such as sustainable agriculture, afforestation, water management, early warning <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">systems, and green financing. The goal is to transform high-potential initiatives into feasible, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">scalable projects, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the region\u2019s resilience. The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Expression-of-Interest Call will be made available in the coming weeks at www.dpiots.org. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In his speech, L\u00e1szl\u00f3 \u00d6rl\u0151s emphasized: \u201cDrought is not merely a weather phenomenon\u2014it is a complex challenge threatening the future of agriculture, food security, and rural <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">communities. The Drought Prevention Institute seeks to address this threat through science, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">regional cooperation, and international partnerships.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The DPI is operated by HEPA on behalf of the Representation Office of the OTS in Hungary <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and in cooperation with the OTS secretariat in Istanbul.
